Thank you, Creditnetters! Your posts have been inspirational and informative! I had 3 CAs left on my report. One I'm still fighting, but it's due to fall off in a few months. One has never responded to ANY of my letters, and I've sent all my correspondence to the CRAs, hoping that they'll delete based on my evidence. We'll see. The one that I'm ecstatic about today, though...Wow. It was only a coupla years old, and although I was disputing the amount, I was pretty sure I'd end up having to do an accord and satisfaction or something with them. But after only one validation request, they sent me a letter saying that the OC had requested it to be removed from collections, and they will fax the request to delete to the CRAs! (And all I have to do is follow up to make sure the CRAs do it. LOL) Yay! Yay! Yay! Thank you! I am SOOOOO grateful to this board's help and inspiration.
Yay! Yay! Yay! With ya. Congratulations Future. Nice work...Unexpected AND Good (in this world) is worth a Yay or 3. -Peace, Dave
hey there.. CONGRATS!!!! could you tell us some of the details... the CA, OC and which of the CRA they reported to... what amount and the age?
Thanks, Dave. You are one of the people that I'd like to especially thank. You seem to always be there with a word of encouragement for those who are just beginning their credit repair journey. You are most appreciated.
The collection was on all three CRs, approx 2 years old, for a cable bill, and it was well within the SOL. I had been disputing the amt with the OC at first, but then they sent it to collections. They were charging me for 2 mos, but I believed it was only supposed to be a month (if that, since I had it turned off only a couple of days after that month of service had begun). This particular company had changed hands right around the time that the error occurred. The CA did not validate within the 30 days given by the Texas Finance Code (a little more stringent than the FDCPA). I was just deciding my next step when I received that CRRR from CMI. I was a little hesitant, but absolutely delighted when I opened the letter and read it.
