On two of my accounts, I have something listed under "your comment" or "your statement"...
    1) "This account is in dispute under Fair Credit Billing Act."
    2) "This account is disputed." and then under that, "meets requirements of FCRA."

I did not ask for either of these statements/comments. Can the CRAs just add these "statements" on whether I actually asked to have them included or not?

Have you sent validation letters to the reporters of these accts?

They put that on my report recently when I tried to force Citi to update the account. Citi did update just the balance (what I disputed), but Experian refuses to take the comment off. They say they will leave it there until they get a regular update from Citi. My score went up, so I am not fighting it.

They apparently notified EFX and TU also, because they are both reporting the account disputed, even though the account is up to date on those reports. Doh. Who cares? My scores went up! Maybe I should dispute a couple of others, LOL.

Be aware, though, that if it is a collection account, they will not report it as disputed, LOL. Only positive tradelines get the notation (and only positive tradelines get deleted).

Negative accounts are always verified or updated.

Actually, they are both collections- I haven't argued the point with any of the CRAs since I figure the fact that the comment is there places some "doubt" as to the validity of the tradeline and may make it easier to get off later...

1.) on TU report says "dispute filed by consumer 1996." Funny thing is, the "open date" for this account is 1997- ummm, I may be wrong, but if I filed a dispute in 1996 then shouldn't the "open date" be in 1996?? By the way, the "billing dispute" was it never resolved.

2.) didn't send validation -it is a paid account- I just disputed the tradeline and it came back verified with "your comment" attached. Sent a nutcase letter to them this week, so hopefully this will clear up any dispute that may be pending on this account.
