    Dear Sir/Madame:

This letter is a formal complaint that you are reporting inaccurate and incomplete credit information. Currently you are reporting (1) item on my credit report, which does not belong to me. These accounts are not mine and I must insist that they be investigated and deleted immediately.

I am concerned that you have included the below information in my credit profile and have failed to maintain reasonable procedures in your operations to assure maximum possible accuracy in the credit reports you publish.

As I am sure you are aware, credit-reporting laws ensure that bureaus report only 100% accurate credit information. Every step must be taken to assure the information reported is completely accurate and correct.

The following information therefore needs to be investigated:

    Direct Merchants Card, Account# 1234567890

The listed items are completely inaccurate, and are very serious errors in reporting. Please delete this misleading information, and supply a corrected credit profile to all creditors who have received a copy of my credit report within the last 6 months, or the last 2 years for employment purposes.

Additionally, please provide the name, address, and telephone number of each credit grantor or other subscriber.

Under federal law, you have thirty (30) days to complete your investigation. Be advised that I am hereby requesting the description of the procedure used to determine the accuracy and completeness of the information to be provided within 15 days of the completion of your investigation.

    Sincerely,

    Numbskull

    Numb,

If it were me, I leave out all the legal stuff until I need it. You want to be the unknowledgable consumer.

Re: Re: Your Favorite CHOD letter format.

Trollish posts generally follow a pattern, and can be pinpointed partly by the time they signed up. Never seen anybody "turn trollish" you either are or aren't. You are referring to our latest, whom posted a letter - that certainly wasn't the first thing he did. You would need to follow the whole saga to see that your letter is not trollish.

    No worries Numb!

I think a possible idea would be the epitimy to the KISS theology. For those of you unfamiliar with it, that acronym stands for Keep It Simple, Stupid (or explicitives in place of stupid) To get the real nieve consumer look to make sure you stay away from the frivilous pile, I'd minimize your letter even more, then . . . and here's the unique thought . . . HAND PRINT your letter. I know sending out 30 hand printed letters might be a pain in the postierior, but it might just be enough to make sure that Transunion doesn't immediately just claim a frivilous. And I totally agree with JLynn about leaving out the legal mumbo jumbo.

    Just a thought.
