Go to this URL which is the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access database:

    http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl

    Select this county: Chippewa
    Enter this case number: 2003SC000099

Capital One sued and won $20.00 from a person in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. With court costs he owes Capital One $99.50

I guess Capital One will sue for ANY amount.

I didn't read the case, but I assume they got a default judgement against the debtor. If they did that to me, I would have fought it and dragged it out until they were in it for thousands of dollars and make them wish they had never been so stupid and petty. How rediculous.

If Cap One's beef was legit on this $20 suit I am wondering why they weren't awared attorney fees??

    Seems odd to me!

If you think it would cost Cap One thousands for them to sue you and the account was legit, they wouldn't care as you would be paying their attorney's fees!

    A note:

The attorney Robert W. Kohn seems to handle most of the cases for Capital One here in Wisconsin. He also handles cases for Discover Card here, too.

    1*They did see below.

    Property/Remarks
Default Judgment for balance + court costs

These kind of judgments are a farce that needs to be outlawed.

There is no reason or excuse for them.
