PSYCHDOC - You are not going to believe - or maybe so. Providian Account closed by credit grantor Was late 120 days Paid in full zero balance due Okay . . . feedback on the "nutcase" letter. I had disputed 4 accts of mh. Disputed for various reasons - all had been paid. However, when I learned of your ingenious plan - AHA - So . . . I sent those. One creditor - deleted. Haven't heard from the other two . . . but get this. Today - MH gets this 1 pound package from Providian (keep in mind this is paid in full to Providian - ahem a little late). This package has every single piece of paper you could imagine. Complete with signatures of the original acceptance contract and every statement printout from day one $3.00 for first class postage!
It wasn't a proper validation - statement printouts for 4 years or so and the original contract acceptance. Not sure - right now my focus is on other big fish - of which - I received the return receipts today. Now that I think about it I will probably go after total deletion - a statement print out is not proper validation/inaccurate information/blah blah blah. It is nice to have fun with this for a change. Still chuckling. Wonder how long it took someone to do that?
id be curious to know if anyone has successfully sent a goodwill letter to providian on an account with 'closed by credit grantor' to have the late payment stuff removed. i know, probably wishful thinking. they have no motivation to do anything for you now that you are no longer a customer.
This link in the FAQ has a post outlining creditors it does NOT work on, also has many it DID work on...use the SEARCH, that may work to find specific answers to your specific creditor and a good approach used in the past. -Peace, Dave
Tomorrow I will pull out my letter and see just how nutty it was. Obviously not enough. How about follow-up nutty complete with bbb complaint? I mean what are they going to do - continue reporting it?
Yes - I have read it. I have been here since April. Started my "cleansing" 08/01. My experience has been that the results vary by individual as far as the goodwill letter goes.
Melvina, I am sorry this info has "hijacked" your thread...I added the quote shortly after I hit "POST", guess not quick enough )... If you look at the "quote", the answer was intended for imlost 's question, not your original post. Sorry for that. As for your post...Looks like your nutcase was not nutty enough ) LOL next time get nuttier. -Peace, Dave
apologies if I took away from your post. was not intentional. was trying to think of ways that might help you, but from looking at the faq, providian appears to be a dead end on all fronts.
Don't worry about it - no offense taken. Think I'm going to incorporate a version of Dancerat's in #2.
Way to go, Melvina!!! It will be interesting to see how the others turn out. LOL! You've got them running scared. I would send the next in the series, betacredit's Son of Nutcase. Too funny, Melvina! And... it couldn't happen to a nicer credit card company. Doc
Providian and I have been the rounds... goodwill, begging, nutcase, over the board nutcase, can't get them on reporting incorrectly... hate them
Oh, yeah, and sorry about this but - they send that one pound package out to everybody that questions their account, I don't know why. The postage must be incredible.
Providian took late pays off of your account? who did you have to bribe and what was your strategy!!?? SHARE!!
