Has anyone tried to contact NCO for a collection account and gotten them to agree to remove the collection(s) from your credit report directly after paying the debt? Will they or won't they. I tried to speak with a rep on the phone, but lol, they started to yell at me....I just laughed and said you are not a nice person buh bye. My collection account is only a mere 300 bucks, and I would like to get it removed.
    Thanks:)

I don't think they even know how to be nice. I have a $125 electric bill on my TU report. I first sent them a letter asking them if they'd remove the item if I paid it. They ignored me and sent me their boilerplate collection letter.

I then called them and the woman on the phone was so incredibly rude it was amazing. She did everything but call me stupid. I recently challenged it with TU to see if they'll validate. It's a mystery to me how they collect any money.

Do not ever try to negotiate with NCO. Go straight for the kill with those bastards. Make them validate. I dealt with them. I sent them a validation letter for a BOFA account they were handling. They never responded to the validation but they did delete the tradeline from all my credit reports. Good luck.

Well, I sued them. Yesterday I just received a letter from their lawyer asking me for my SS#. Oh, yeah, here it is. I'm sending her a letter tomorrow telling her to kiss my ass. J/K, but you know I'm not sending my SS#. They also sent me a letter that was from InoVision-Medclr-NCOP-NF, LLC.. NCO Financial Systems, Inc. What the f*ck? Never mind that this is for a check that had been stolen, but that they have already placed on my report and I have sent them a validation letter. And get THIS. They are offering me a settlement on it! As long as I pay it in the next 15 days. Oh, how wonderful they are. Motherf*ckers. I'll see them on the 6th. And I'm suing them as MedClr separately, too. I'm sending this to the FTC as well. Is everyone sending out their complaints? I think that Picantel has a wonderful idea. We should send a barrage of complaints about NCO to the FTC. Then they'll sue the living hell out of them. What do you guys think? There's strength in numbers, man.

I AGREE. ALTHOUGH I THINK CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE A JOKE (GOT $8.53 FROM ONE I WAS INVOLVED IN...NON CREDIT RELATED). ALL THE CREDITNETTERS WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THEM SHOULD SET A DATE TO SEND COMPLAINT LETTERS TO THE FTC. IF WE ALL MAILED THEM ON THE SAME DATE, THEY WOULD ALL GET THERE WITHIN THE SAME WEEK. MAYBE THEN THEY WILL DO SOMETHING. IF THEY ONLY GET COMPLAINTS THAT TRICKLE IN EVERY SO OFTEN, THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING. BUT IF THEY GOT 100 COMPLAINT IN ONE WEEK, MAYBE IT MIGHT OPEN THEIR EYES. MAYBE A SEPERATE THREAD WOULD HELP.

    IMHO don't PAY!
I had a pd collection from 1997 - it's either 120 or 210 - paid. It only showed on one of my reports. So I called, and begged a goodwill . . . SuperTom - "we only report true accurate information . . . ". Next thing I know, several different pd col accts of NCO affiliates started reporting. What an @ss.

I cannot and will not understand persons employed assuming a personal vendetta with every interaction of their job. Sure would hate to have to be around those persons on their personal time - hostility - not a fun thing.

Could anyone give me a good example for my situation of a validation letter to NCO?

I'm in the thick of things right now with NCO. Sent a validation letter, they ignored it (actually had it marked return to sender)....I promptly filed compliants with the BBB, FTC, and the PA attorney general. Miraculously, within a few weeks, I got a letter from their Compliance Officer stating that they were going to contact the OC to get validation and unitl they do, they were going to delete all entries to the CRAs. About 2 weeks ago, I did get that validation (true validation with a copy of original application and everything). I now have negotiation letters out to 4 of their offices and included a complete copy of the Federal collection laws, including strategically highlighted phrases....I also included copies of the CRRR of my initial attempt to contact them, making sure they knew that the address I used was the one they report to CRAs (a violation I believe), and copies of the complaints I filed. I sent all this, and even noted it on all the letters, to their offices in Philly, Fort Washington, PA, Getzville, NY, and Horsham, PA. Hopefully, they will listen this time. Good luck to all going to battle with them....I'm with you!

PS: If you look on the BBB website for PA, you'll find that the NCO offices there had their BBB affiliation taken away in April 2002 due to complaints.

    $8.53~~~THAT'S GIGANTIC!!!

Wife got about $0.34 for her last one!!!

    It was a MAILED CHECK...

THE EXPENSES INVOLVED IN ISSUING AND DEPOSITING THIS CHECK WOULD HAVE BEEN AMAZING TO FOLLOW...

They did nothing in my case. An $83 medical bill from 1998 ....you would think they had bigger fish to fry!!! This is becoming a hassle.

they have a medical collection for medclr for me that they put on as a duplicate after I disputed it. I've filed a complaint with the FTC and BBB

NCO is known to be difficult to deal with. In almost all cases, they will fail to vaidate. This would be my first line of attack.

I have spoken to several of their reps, each of whom told me that it was against their policy for deletion for payment. I stumbled onto one who said that they'd have to check with the OC and never got back to me.

If you speak to them, be sure to record when possible, they are arrogant, rude, and in many cases, say something that will result in a violation. Many of the phone reps do not know the FDCPA as well as they should.

After all was said and done on my case (medical bill)I found it easiest to deal with the OC. I showed them the mountain of violations that NCO had amassed and also showed them where they could potentially held liable for the mistakes of NCO.

I sent an intent to sue to both the OC and NCO, even after a full validation (which was late). The tradelines magically disappeared, quick. The OC left me a message within hours of faxing my letter.

I called NCO afterwards and the rep said they have no record of the account.

BTW, Lexington Law says they have some type of arrangement with NCO where they can expedite the deletion of these accounts. They charge $200 for the service plus you have to place the amount of the collection in an account to be used to settle the debt.

I really don't believe that Lexington can do anything I couldn't and in my case, I did it much faster and with less headache.

    I HIGHLY doubt that.

    $200 huh? Figures

    LOL

I was just wandering on Lexington's site.....would it be worth the 35 bucks a month to get these guys working on my report instead of me trying to learn all this stuff myself and taking up a lot of my time?

    Bottom line, does lexington work?

Best idea to deal with NCO....

Before I found this site, I found Budhibbs.com. When I received the first NCO letter on a pregnant MCI account (pregnant = grows with each subsequent CA!), I started with BudHibbs Cease Communications letter. I added that I disputed the debt.

Never heard from them again and never reported to bureau either. I have found that this only works in the 1st 30 days. Once listed, you are $crewed.

Which is precisely why they often don't send the first notice.

    :(
