I have been a do-it-yourselfer since 1997 and have removed about 50 or so bad accounts. But I am at a point where I am stuck with 4 student loans and 2 tax liens which actually ARE inaccurate. Any ideas out there??????????????? Tom
I wouldn't recommend using Lexington that way. Unless you're tired of the grind of doing it yourself, I don't usuallly recommend Lex to the do-it-yourselfer. If you're truly an experienced, well-informed do-it-yourselfer, Lexington's basic service won't be doing anything earth-shatteringly new. However, Lexington does have an expanded "direct-demand" service where they go to your creditors and put them over a barrel and make them prove or delete. It's more expensive, but it might be the ticket for you.
I had also gone about as far as I thought I could on my credit repair journy and joined Lexington Law. I have been with them almost four months and they have not gotten rid of a single account. They do bulk disputes INCLUDING good accounts even though I have told them not to. Thank goodness I subscribe to the EQ and EX credit monitoring services. Now I consider it more important to keep tracck of what Lex Law is doing more than the CRAs. The instant that I see that Lex Law has placed good accounts in dispute I immediately contact the CRAs and have to have them taken out of dispute. It is so ridiculous If I allow Lex Law to continue on into the CHOD season I can see a humongous disaster ahead. Stay away from Lex Law. It may be frustrating to do all of the disputes yourself, but you will be in control of your important credit repair journey, you will likely get more deleted in a shorter period of time and it won't cost you $35 every single month. Not to mention all of the constant hassles that Lex Law will bring to your life. Let me assure you! They will not make your life easier and they will NOT save you time!!! I know Lex Law does have a very expensive service called "Direct Demand." It is a more personalized service where they go in and do battle with a chosen creditor. If you are sure getting rid of a certain trade line would significantly raise your score it might be worth investigating. I believe that you get your money back if they can't remove the account. I would post a message to creditnetter first, however, asking about any info or success stories they might have with Lex Law "Direct Demand."
Stenwick, I am sorry to hear that things are not working out for you working with Lexington Law Firm. I work at Lexington, and I can assure you that it is not our policy to dispute positive accounts. In fact, we have safeguards in place to avoid situations like this. If we made a mistake on your case, I sincerely apologize and I will work with you to resolve this. Feel free to call me or your Client Advocate and we will be happy to review your case to see what has happened. I can be reached by calling the same number you use to call your advocate. My extension is 242. I hope to hear from you soon.
I used Lex Law for a month until I recieved a letter they sent out to TU on my behalf. It came to my address because the TU address they put on the envelope could not be read. I opened the letter and was not very impressed with the letter they sent out. It was poorly written and I then realized that I wasted $75. My email communication with Lex Law was marginal. Each message seemed to be a cut and paste job. I receieved multiple emails for the same question. I was told by Lex Law that I would start to see results in about 90 days. After my experience with Lex Law I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found this board and others, then started this journey 8/22/02. Results to date: EX 6 deletions-12 more to go EQ 9 deletions-4 more to go TU 13 deletions including a judgement-7 more to go. Can't wait for Thanksgiving! If you are here any researching this board there is no reason to give anyone your money to do this. Lex Law may be a good fit for some people, but if you are here and participating, you should go it on your own. Of course with the assistance of the members here at CreditNet.
Do a search on Lexington Law, Lex Law, etc. I think you'll find most of the responses negative regarding their service and attention to detail. My two cents.... Wichita
Most, perhaps, but not all. Lexington has completely cleared my TU, and only one neg. left on each of EQ and EX - all in under a year (probably about 6-8 negative items on each report to start). I've had nothing but fantastic results from Lex, and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. I just pre-qualified for a mortgage and was approved for a GM Platinum and Discover Platinum within a week... a year ago I would not have had a chance. I'm sure results vary widely, but they have done a bang-up job on my case, FWIW.
