Anyone know or had experience with Lexington Law -
I'm considering using them, but before I do I just need to know if they are legitimate. Please let me know.

I do not know your situation but before you decide to use Lexington Law (I've seen thier adds on the net) you should consider what you can do yourself.

This website (probably the best one out there) offers some great advice and strategy on how to approach your credit. There's so much you can do yourself without having to pay someone else to do it.

    Think about it ...

I suggest you use the search and check what has been written here about them. Makes some interesting reading and will help you decide if you really want to use them or not.

I used them for over a year. I was very satisfied with what they were doing for me...until I found out that I could do it all myself.

My situation was different. I was on the road all the time travelling, so I was never in 1 place at any given time. My wife wasn't sure how to approach it, so I hired them.

They removed I think a total of 5 derog accounts on 1 and 7 on the other 2. I don't remember right off hand, but they did pretty good considering I didn't have to do a thing except send them my updated reports when they came in.

Then one day one of the CRA's (I don't remember who) sent me a letter saying that I was using a credit repair organization and that they wouldn't investigate any longer. I was mad as hell and I emailed Lexington. They got back with me asap, the letter is posted on this site somewhere. I also called them on the phone and even though I didn't pay for phone consultations, they got on the phone and discussed my case with me on 2 or 3 occassions.

My end result was a good one. Others may expect too much and come away disatisfied. If you expect them to clear up everything, you are mistaken and will come away an unhappy customer. Just as you would be if you thought you could clear up everything with a few letters on your own.

It is my understanding that Lexington ONLY writes letters to the CRA's. Nothing more, nothing less (unless you pay for them to negotiate).

I paid $30 a month for my credit repair. I used that time to start investigating things that I could do on my own, and once I received that letter saying they wouldn't investigate, I realized it was time for me to start going after these places myself.

I made mistakes BEFORE hiring Lexington that I think made it hard on them to have things removed. Like saying "NEVER LATE" with a derog account, that they verified and now I couldn't say "NOT MINE". Those accounts are still on my report. Also I disputed over the phone with EXP a few accounts that said "unpaid charge off", I disputed as "Filed under Bk Chapt 13" Big mistake! So if you want someone to do your stuff in the meantime and NOT have to worry too much about it, I think they are a good place to start until you find out more about how to go about credit repair on your own!

Hope that helped. I rambled throughout, but I had good experience with them!

I really appreciate your responses - I know I can do it on my own, but my problem is, I wouldn't know where to start!

I've purchased several credit repair books and I've read them, but the problem is I don't know what I can dispute (outside the norm). My problem is I don't want to screw up any chance of repairing my real bad credit.

I read where CRA's throw out the red flag if they see forms out of the Credit Repair Books. I guess I just don't want to mess up chance of getting my credit repaired or restored.

They will prolly help you a bit if you dont wanna do the leg work yourself, they helped me before i found this site. I got just as god results they did, and Im dealing wit han identity fraud, one of the toughest things to deal with on your credit report.

I had average to good results with lexington law firm about 2 years ago, I used then for a year and they removed a few things here and there. I am doing my wifes on my own and I have made some mistakes.

Overall lexington law IS very honest about how they work and the results you can expect.
