DH has a paid medical collection for $50.00, opened in 2000, paid in 2002. I called and was real nice to these people and asked for removal. I previously disputed as not mine with experian, but was verified. Anyway, I was told we don't delete. Period. I know some of you were told that before. Seeing as though it is medical, is there some secret backdoor I can enter to get it removed? Thanks
Why chat i went to your site and read the hippa letter. i didnt understand anything it said LOL but will it work in my case. i have a 34.03 from a radiology place this was not the full amount i had thought i paid it all but they sent this much to collections last year so i sent them a check for this on 2 separate occasions and they sent them back one time they said i didnt owe anything the next i owed 8.99 so i called the medical place and the girl checked it and said i did owe 34.03 but it was at the collection agency. i have never received anything from this CA i ony know about this because it showed up on my husbands credit report. someone suggested i callthem and have them get it back from the ca but im not very good on the phone with people and my husband wont do it. so does this situation sound like that letter will work for it?? so if i send this hipaa letter to the radiology place they should cash the check and tell the ca to ge tit off my reports is that correct?? cherek88
Absolutely correct; You need to make sure you follow the directions exactly, especially about the endoresement section on the back of the check.Make sure you address it to the LEGAL dept. of the health care provider, DO NOT communicate in ANY way to the CA in the future, if they call, do not speak to them. If this is your husband's bill, make sure ALL references are made to only him, and have him sign the letter. If it is on only his credit report then you need not add anything.IF it is on YOUR report too, e-mail me and I will give you the corect phrase to put in.
whychat sorry to bug you again but i was going to send the hipaa letter but i read on some other posts that you should dispute this account first?? is that correct because i havent done anything with it yet. thanks for your help cherek88
Yes, it needs to have been disputed, either with the CA or the CRA or both. If it has not yet been disputed, dispute it on line as "no such account for this creditor in this amount", (print out the dispute) THEN send the HIPAA letter, you might note that ALL inserts state that the account has been properly disputed.
well i went back and checked and its only showing up on transunion so i will dispute it online. will they let me do another dispute online when i already did one about 2 weeks ago? this is how it reads on the credit report. also should i send the hipaa letter the same day i dispute it?? collection accounts Natl accts original creditor: madison radiologists date opened:05/01/2002 condition:derogatory remarkslaced for collection type:collection date reported:09/01/2002 responsibility:individual original balance:$74 balance:$34 (technically i owe $34.03) thanks cherek88
Was the dispute 2 weeks ago for the same account you are sending the HIPAA letter on? If so, you need not redispute it,if not, then it would be a new dispute with TU.
no they were 4 different accounts ok then i will dipute it and when should i send the hipaa letter out ? the same day?? thanks for you r help i really appreciate it cherek88
Re: Re: Paid Medical collection Yes you can send it out the same day, just make sure you have a print out of the dispute in case their legal dept. requires proof that you HAVE disputed it.
