Back in 2001 i have paid off my NY City Tax and State Tax for taxes i owed back in 1999.

Looking at my Experian credit report from 2002, it stated that the Civil Claim was satisfied and it quotes "This item is scheduled to continue on record until 4/2003" that was for my city tax, my state tax was slated to be on record until "1/2003".

I just received my Experian credit report in November, 2003, and the new dates that those civil claims will be on record is now 4/2005 and 1/2005 respecitively.

    How can this happen?

Mainly, how can i get these removed off my report, they've been paid for close to 2 years now.

    Please help!!!!

How long they've been paid is not the question.
The question is how long have they been realeased or have they even been realeased.

The government makes an exception for itself, sorry to say, the 7-year reporting is from the PAYMENT date.

    605. Requirements relating to information contained in consumer reports [15 U.S.C. § 1681c]

    (a) Information excluded from consumer reports. Except as authorized under subsection (b) of this section, no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information:

    (1) Cases under title 11 [United States Code] or under the Bankruptcy Act that, from the date of entry of the order for relief or the date of adjudication, as the case may be, antedate the report by more than 10 years.

    (2) Civil suits, civil judgments, and records of arrest that from date of entry, antedate the report by more than seven years or until the governing statute of limitations has expired, whichever is the longer period.

    (3) Paid tax liens which, from date of payment, antedate the report by more than seven years.

Try sending them a copy of the TLs from the OLD report and demand deletion NOW. See if anything good happens.

Actually I looked through the glossary before i posted my question.

There's nothing posting on what a TL stands for.

Oddly enough, the abbreviation is lacking, though the definition (and much discussion that follows) is there:

tradeline A line (single entry) on your credit report
Tradeline - Tradeline - An entry in your credit history. Many of us go through hell to make certain ones to go away. Others want certain ones to appear.

No offense, can't you just tell me what a TL is?

I've already went through the entire glossary and didn't see it.

Unless you meant to say in plain English. A TL means a TRADELINE.

    TL equals TradeLine.
A trade line is a debt or account listed on a credit report.
