FINALLY my DMB balance of $59 posted to all three reports - was three months late for EXP at $3k, the other two showed $1500.

Bumped my TU FICO from 682 to 700. My EQ went from 661 to 687. I can't pull my EXP until tomorrow, but I'll bet it went up from 721.

That means my midscore is now 700. Whew!

    Congrats!

It would appear that alot of your increase is due to a reduction in balances. I'm hopeful that this will help me too. I'm over 95% utilization, and am hopeful that paying these down to nothing (or next to nothing) will get me from low-mid 5's to at least the mid 6's. I doubt I'll hit the 700 mark until I can get this one judgment off of my report, but that's merely speculation on my part.

Again, congrats, and thanks for bringing hope to some of the rest of us!

DMB didn't send reports for 3 months?!! Is that their practice to send reports every 3 months?

I probably gained 100 points on my utilization alone. I think that would apply for everyone.

I have BK (2.5 years) on all 3 CRs and anywhere between 2 and 5 public records - tax liens - all now marked as released.

My own experience tells me that FICO cares not if my liens were released or not. It worked well for my mortgage app, but I think a "public record" is a Bad Thing and I've still got plenty.

On DMB, it was only EXP that did not report it for months. EXP claimed DMB did not report to them, but I doubt it. DMB showed up the same DAY every month on EQ and TU. No way to prove it, but EXP was snowing me.

Have you been able to get approval for "prime" cards with your scores and having those public records?

    Congratulations.

Your scores are very impressive to say the least, given your situation.

    Amazing.

Thanks all. Nope, had a rash (Brad remembers) of arrogance and applied for Amex, BofA and Chase. I wasn't surprised that BofA and Amex turned me down, but Chase really bothered me since I had a car loan w/them for over six months when I applied.

I realized that a good score isn't enough w/a scarlet letter, and BK has two scarlet letters.

Once I close on my condo, even if I wind up w/a HELOC that'll knock my score down 100 points, I can settle in for the next few years until my BK falls off.

DanS, CONGRATS on beating me to it! I think we both have very good scores for our situations since BK around 2.5 years ago. 1-2% - CL is also what I stick with after a BK. PLEASE take the HELOC because I am having a hard time catching up with you. Also I just read a E-Mail you sent me a couple of months ago on how you got there. Sorry, some how I missed it but it was good reading. I figured out that your average age of revolving accounts was higher than mine. I didn't have any credit cards to work from after BK and had to start over.

Also I did find out that the 3 year mark on a BK is a magic number to FICO. I remember you asked that question here once and no one was sure exactly.

    Once again good job!!!

JVick, always glad to "help". <grin>

Just pulled EXP again, after balance fell from $1.5k to $59 and that got all of 4 points. I'm happy, 725 is an amazing score, but I think I've maxed out on utilization points.

EXP is my best because I've got some TLs that go back 20 years, 9 months. Not sure why, but they've stuck around a long time. TU is 11 years, 8 months and EQ is 9 years, 2 months. So history helps. I guess the only "instant fix" there is to become an AU on an old account.

The thing I find amazing is I've got FIVE liens on EXP and it's my highest score. I've got 2 on TU, middle score, and 3 on EQ. All of them are marked released except for one on EQ.

And of course, the BK is there on all three.
