Well my last negative item went to court today for a pre-trial hearing, and it turned out GREAT!!! The CA sent a $200+/hr attorney from 150 miles away to represent them in court. The judge saw that we both were there and set the date for the case. The attorney for the CA asked for me to revise my motion, as he felt that it didn't clearly state my demands. The judge took one look at my 4 page Lizardking complaint, and told the attorney that he felt that the 2 counts that I was bringing forward were quite clear (which I smiled about). The attorney followed me out of the courtroom, and pulled me aside to offer me a settlement. They'll pay for the court costs, and delete the LAST NEGATIVE ITEM ON MY REPORT. I'm a VERY happy camper!!!

    Congratulations!!

I think I'd have held out for a little money as well, but as long as it's deleted, I guess that's what's important.

I thought about going for a little extra cash for my time and troubles, but the deletion is really what is important. I'm just happy that this one has gone away!!!

    If what Tiger?

If you just drop your case? Do they drop the collection? How much was it for?

    ???

    Congrats.

Given that the settlement was with Leaseconn, it was probably a couple thousand dollars ($3,000-$5,000+ range) which they were forced to write off when the FTC sued them, and made them cancel $24 MILLION + in accounts... :)

Hmmmm, maybe I should sue them for the 10 months of verifying incorrectly post settlement, which barred collection activity. ;-)

Since they're already off my reports, they have no chips to use for a settlement... :)

Sorry about the delay, but this was a settlement for a deletion and the repaymenr of my court costs to date. Keep in mind that each and everyone of these TL's were all PAID COLLECTIONS. Nutcase was the route that I went with all, and they all went away!!!
