    Here is my question:

Say you have account 1234 with ABC company turned over to XYZ collections...they proceed to charge you what you owed, plus late fees, interest, etc. Say you approach ABC company asking that late fees and possible interest be reduced, due to circumstances at that time, to which you think will improve, but not overnight. ABC company tells you tough beans and continues to add fees. You come to point that min. payment does not cover min. payment and figure, they are unwilling to work with me, forget you, I refuse to work with you. ABC turns it over to XYZ collections, which now shows on credit report a substanial amount more, than when you stopped paying. Credit report only shows last two years of activity, with several collection amounts showing for ABC company. XYZ collections.
How does one get last statement from ABC company that shows last payment made, without some run around to a collection department, who says they no longet handle this account?
