I had a credit card that was a few years old fall into collections. I contacted the creditor and made payment arrangements.

During this time the card was never listed as a 'Collection'. It was always listed as chargeoff.

Now that I have two more mohtly payments to make to the collection agency they are now reporting this item as a 'collection'.

What do I do now? Do I call them up and complain? Do I let it go and attempt deletion requests?

    Ideas?

Is it still showing as a charge off also? Collection is better than charge off.

At any rate, once it is paid off, you can start working on the status. There are several ways to approach it.

The card is listed as a chargeoff and in addition to that there is now a collection account...

    Thanks though.
