Its been almost 7 years since my credit went bad due to credit cards, no bankruptcy involved, will it go away? I requested my CR about a year ago and the date of last activity was around 6 years. But recently a couple of my credit accounts have been sold to an independent collection agency. This doesn't reset the clock does it? I got an updated copy of my CR and it has last activity about a year ago instead of 6 years. I thought I was almost free, please tell me I don't have to wait another half a decade.
selling the date doesn't reset the clock...though I'd count on having to make an issue of it to get them deleted after 7 yrs
